Green Party supports a Citizens Income for All

When many are suffering a cost of living crisis the Green Party supports a Citizens/Minimum income for all.

Many millions across the UK and thousands in Tameside are living in poverty and are being forced to turn to food banks.

The explosion in food bank use has been as a result of low wages, zero hour contracts, cuts in Social welfare, benefit delays and a massive surge in benefit sanctions.

Benefit sanctions have increased by hundreds of thousands per year which leave many living in destitution and at risk of homelessness.

The benefit sanctions which were implemented under a Labour government are being continued by the Lib Dems and Conservatives in government.

The Green Party is the only major political party to oppose benefit sanctions which leaves people in dire poverty with nothing to live on..

The Chairman of The Trussell Trust, Chris Mould says the UK’s welfare system is now inhumane where thousands are having to turn to food banks in order to survive.

The Green Party are opposed to benefits sanctions which leave people with nothing to live on. The Green Party supports a Citizens Income where every person and family have enough to live on to meet their daily needs.

The Green Party supports the doubling of Child Benefit, that Carers Allowance is increased to provide more support to millions of carers of people living with disabilities and a decent pension for all pensioners.
